»Con fuoco«

Chamber concert
Amaryllis Quartett
Jens Peter Maintz, Matthias Kirschnereit

To finish the first festival weekend on a high note, you will hear the ECHO-Klassik laureate Amaryllis Quartet along with the two festival soloists, Jens Peter Maintz, cello, and Matthias Kirschnereit, piano.

This evening, two milestones of the chamber music join the string quartet "con fuoco" by the Swiss composer David Philip Hefti, that makes the audience hear the fire-place crackle and shooting stars sparkle.

The artists are presently among the most sought-after soloists and chamber musicians, which will make you enjoy and relish this musical experience.

And naturally, this year’s festival theme Fire, originating in the general leitmotif which follows the four-year cycle of the four elements, plays an important role in this concert. The evening is called, after all, “con fuoco” – “with fire” in Italian.

Programme:

David Philip Hefti: String Quartet No. 4 »Con fuoco«;
Franz Schubert: String Quintet in C major 956;
Robert Schumann: Piano Quintet E-flat major, op. 44
