Recital for clarinet and piano
Sebastian Manz (clarinet)
Herbert Schuch (piano

Admission: € 15-35

It will be a very special experience to experience how the two top musicians, the clarinettist Sebastian Manz and the pianist Herbert Schuch, interpret the theme "AIR" as one of the four elements in their recital. The program selection made with the works of Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann and Niels Gade promises a special listening pleasure, in which the Putbus Theater with its fine acoustics will contribute to the atmosphere in the theater being set in pleasant and at the same time exciting vibrations.

Programme:
Johannes Brahms Sonatas op. 120/1 and op. 120/2,
Robert Schumann Fantasy Pieces op. 73,
Niels Gade Fantasy Pieces op. 43

Sebastian Manz, international soloist, chamber musician and solo clarinetist, celebrated his big breakthrough in 2008 at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. There he received first prize in the clarinet category, which had not been awarded in this category for 40 years, as well as the coveted audience prize and other special prizes. For his album "A Bernstein Story", which was released in 2019, the multiple ECHO Klassik award winner received the OPUS KLASSIK in the category "Classic without borders" in October 2020.

Sebastian Manz regularly demonstrates his enthusiasm for arranging and composing in concerts and within his discography, which has won numerous awards. The CD A Bernstein Story (Berlin Classics), released in August 2019, which he recorded together with the jazz musician Sebastian Studnitzky, contains arrangements and original compositions by the musicians and inspires both the classical and the jazz music scene. The Mannheimer Morgen newspaper described the album as “a bubbling laboratory with musically highly inspiring experiments” and certified “limitless listening pleasure”.

The pianist Herbert Schuch has made a name for himself as one of the most interesting musicians of his generation with his dramaturgically well thought-out concert programs and CD recordings. Schuch, who has won numerous awards, is at home on the world's major stages and can be heard with outstanding orchestras both nationally and internationally.

Herbert Schuch has recently been shaped in a special way by meeting and working with Alfred Brendel. He attracted international attention when he won three important competitions in a row within a year: the Casagrande Competition, the London International Piano Competition and the Vienna International Beethoven Competition.

In addition to his concert activities, Herbert Schuch is involved in the organization "Rhapsody in School" founded by Lars Vogt, which is committed to teaching classical music in schools.
