Air andLove

Chamber concert with Flautando, Cologne

"Air and Love" - an inexhaustible theme that has always been topical and has left wonderful sounding traces in the history of music. And of course it is about great feelings – then as now, and in all cultures. The popular melodies from the Renaissance, the Baroque and up to the modern age tell of consuming devotion, of separation and reunion, jealousy and oaths of loyalty, of glowing passion and deadly power. The breath is part of all these emotions: the sighing, the jubilation, the faltering as well as the hot breath - it is easy for the recorder to merge air and emotion, love and music.

Flautando Cologne is: Susanna Borsch - Susanne Hochscheid - Ursula Thelen - Kerstin de Witt. They sweep the dust out of the centuries-old scores with an almost contagious liveliness. More than 40 different recorders are used in their exciting tonal experiments. Highest precision and an astonishingly homogeneous, sometimes organ-like sound are the trademarks of the four excellent wind players, who always surprise with unusual performance concepts. In this context, a singing recorder player is certainly one of the special features of the charming formation from Cologne and she also speaks - how could it be otherwise - of love.
