Second Foyer Meeting with Reinhard Piechocki 16.04.2023

That was the Second foyer meeting with Reinhard Piechocki on April 16, 2023

Reinhard Piechocki was interviewed by Marion Saße from the Putbus Theatre Friends' Association. The listeners were able to learn a lot of interesting and worth knowing things from his life.
Reinhard Piechocki lives in Kasnevitz and worked as a scientist on the island of Vilm until he retired. His love of art and culture gives him interesting pastimes.
He started playing the piano at the age of eight. And working with this instrument during the corona pandemic gave him the idea of organizing concerts at the Putbus Theater.

Now there are two successful concert series, the "Chopiniade" and the Piano Summer with young pianists

We traveled by bus and stayed four nights in the Hotel-Pension Dressel in Warmensteinach, a property 24 km from Bayreuth.

We visited the Margravial Opera House and the Erlangen Theater, took a city tour of Bayreuth and visit parks nearby, visited the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth and the museum that belongs to it. We traveled by bus to parks around Bayreuth and to the Markgrafentheater in Erlangen.

Day of Historical Theatres 10/25/2023

Concert on the Day of Historical Theater - Enthusiast Orchestra Stralsund e.V.

Program
Ludwig van Beethoven: Coriolan Ouverture
Samuel Barber: Adagio for strings
Camille Saint-Saens: Introduction et rondo capriccioso
Franz Schubert: Symphony No. 7 in B minor D795 "The Unfinished"

Musical direction: David Behnke
Soloist:
  Ahley Lynn Bartels

The Stralsund Enthusiast Orchestra has firmly established itself in Stralsund's concert life with its concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestra. It arose from an idea for cooperation by the former General Music Director GoloBerg and brought together amateur musicians from a wide variety of professional groups with members of the Philharmonic Orchestra to give concerts together. The idea was to lure out the dormant talents of many music enthusiasts from behind the stove, to open up new audience groups for the theatre, to bring amateur musicians at a higher level with professional musicians on stage and thus create a common enthusiasm for making music.

The current GMD Florian Czismadia continued the project and finally handed it over to the current musical director: David Behnke. In the meantime, various concert programs have been rehearsed and performed. In order to ensure continuity independent of the theater projects, active members of the orchestra decided in 2018 to found the association "Enthusiastenorchester Stralsund e.V.".

That was the Dayof Historical Theatres on October 25, 2023

This day is celebrated with activities in all theaters that belong to the European route of historical theaters. It is a fixed date.

The Putbus Theatre Friens' Association took this opportunity to say thank you. Thank you to the many club members who actively supported the association's own events in 2023, especially the PUTBUS FESTIVAL.

The Federal Volunteer Foundation has made money available for this purpose. With this measure, the foundation recognizes the volunteer work and commitment of the support association and we are very grateful for that.

A small program has been put together for this day.

At 3 p.m. Klaus Möbus showed the film "World Heritage in New Splendor - The Restoration of the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth" in the hall of our theater.

The fellow travelers on this year's theater trip were able to see it in the newly opened museum in Bayreuth, where the film is part of the exhibition. This was followed by a report on the Society of Historical Theaters in Europe (PERSPECTIV). Our association represents the Putbus Theater there. We continued with a tour of the theater. These are offered regularly (dates can be found on our website) and are highly recommended.

The culinary aspect was also not neglected. The delicious dinner in the Jägerhütte created a good basis for the subsequent concert by the Stralsund Enthusiast Orchestra. The volunteers who were unable to attend promptly received books about historical theaters and bouquets of flowers.

Almost all seats in the theater were occupied. The tickets not required by the club were offered for sale at the theater box office.

Under the direction of David Behnke, the audience was treated to a musical highlight with pieces by Beethoven, Barber, Saint-Saens and Schubert. The soloists Grete Behnke (soprano) and Ashley Lynn Bartel (violin) contributed greatly to the success of the concert.

The proceeds from this concert evening will help the Theater Vorpommern to finance the conversion of the Kaisersaal in Greifswald into a venue for all genres. The theater building in Greifswald is currently being renovated and without a replacement venue, the city of Greifswald would be deprived of cultural offerings for years to come.

It was a successful day for the assoziation and the Putbus Theatre.

Third foyer meeting with Katja Pfeifer on November 5th, 2023

Dramaturge Katja Pfeifer was our guest at the Foyer Meeting on November 5th, 2023

Visitors to the foyer meeting in the Putbus Theater were able to gain deep insights into their working world in a conversation with Katja Pfeifer, music dramaturg at the Vorpommern Theater. Moderated by Marion Saße, Katja Pfeifer explained to the audience how musical theater works. The look behind the scenes clarified the processes involved in creating a production, starting with the development of the schedule, through concept development, rehearsals and the finished production. Most guests were amazed at the variety of tasks that have to be solved before each premiere and learned a lot of interesting facts from the world of music dramaturgy.

The foyer meeting is one of the series of events organized by the Putbus Theater Support Association.
